Denfurlong Farm, Fields Road, Chedworth, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL54 4NQ
(see below for detailed directions)
We are a working farm so there are often tractors to be seen, activities range from ploughing and sowing in the winter to hay making and combining in summer. Our cattle are located at our farm at the other end of the village, but they are milked every day and their milk is delivered fresh to our farm shop.
Animals on site are our horses, including our new foal George, our miniature Shetland pony Black-Jack, our two lavender-blue pekin bantam chicken - called Lavender & Blue - and our two rabbits Smokey & Gizmo. All these pets (except the large horses and our foal, George) are rescue animals. We are hoping to adopt more pets over the winter, so watch this space. All our pets enjoy a treat, so come into the farm shop and ask about a carrot or an apple for them. (Please do not let your children open the cages, as we quite often have loose pets and it's dangerous around the car park.)
From the A40 turn right onto the A429 (Fosse Way) heading towards Cirencester and the A419/Swindon. You will go through traffic lights at Northleach. Keep going and you will pass a long stone wall on your right (home to Lord & Lady Vestey in case you were wondering). Next you will go down a very steep hill into the village of Fossebridge with a large pub at the bottom. Continue up the hill and as the speed limit changes into 50 you will see a turning right into the village of Chedworth. Take this road. After 1/4 mile you will go round a very sharp left hand bend with a large house. 100m after the house turn left into our carpark for the farm shop. This is our site office, so you have arrived. Hurrah! Your satnav will tell you to keep going, but they don't know the area, so ignore them.
Leave the M4 at Junction 15 for Swindon and follow the road to Cirencester. After approx. 15 miles you will come to the Burford Road junction, signposted Stow(A429), Burford and Cirencester. At the roundabout at the end of the slipway turn right (3rd exit) and go straight over the second roundabout to the traffic lights. Turn left at these traffic lights and follow this road (A429/Foose Way) for 6 miles. You will come into a 50mph zone. After approx 1/2 mile there is a turning left into the village of Chedworth. Take this road. After 1/4 mile you will go round a very sharp left hand bend with a large house. 100m after the house turn left into our carpark for the farm shop. This is our site office, so you have arrived. Hurrah!
